Brazilian Rice and Beans
A popular brazilian home-style dish with rice, black beans, onion, well suited for a family weekly menu.
Ingredients
- Rice300 g
- Black beans350 g
- Onion1 pcs
- Garlic cloves4 cloves
- Bay leaves2 pcs
- Oil2 tbsp
Instructions
Rinse the beans or legumes; soak and cook dried beans until almost tender if needed.
Sauté onion, garlic, spices, and vegetables in a pot until softened.
Add the beans, tomatoes, broth, or water, stir, and bring to a boil.
Simmer gently until the dish is thick and the flavors come together.
Adjust salt, heat, and acidity; mash some of the beans for a thicker texture if desired.
Serve with rice, bread, herbs, avocado, sour cream, or cheese.
