Stewed Chicken with Dumplings
Home-style chicken in gravy with soft wheat dumplings.
Ingredients
- Chicken900 g
- Onion1 pcs
- Carrot1 pcs
- Broth or water500 ml
- Sour cream150 g
- Flour180 g
- Egg1 pcs
- Milk100 ml
- Oil2 tbsp
- Fresh herbs20 g
Instructions
Cut the chicken into portions, season with salt, and brown in a deep pan.
Add onion and carrot and cook for 5 minutes.
Pour in broth or water, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes.
Make a thick soft dough from flour, egg, milk, and salt.
Drop small spoonfuls of dough directly into the sauce, cover, and cook for 10–12 minutes.
Add sour cream, herbs, and pepper, then heat gently for 2 minutes without boiling hard.
