Semolina Porridge with Milk
A smooth, lump-free milk semolina porridge — a simple Ukrainian breakfast with butter and warm cinnamon.
Ingredients
- semolina60 g
- milk500 ml
- sugar1.5 tbsp
- butter20 g
- salt1 pinch
- ground cinnamon0.5 tsp
Instructions
Rinse the saucepan with cold water, pour in the milk and set it over medium heat.
Add the sugar and salt, stir, and heat almost to a boil, without letting the milk boil too vigorously.
Lower the heat to minimum and pour in the semolina in a thin stream, whisking constantly so no lumps form.
Cook for 3–5 minutes, stirring constantly, until the porridge noticeably thickens and becomes smooth.
Remove the saucepan from the heat, add the butter, cover with a lid and let stand for 3 minutes so the semolina absorbs the milk.
Divide the porridge between two bowls and sprinkle with ground cinnamon before serving.
