Herring Under a Fur Coat
A layered salad of herring, potatoes, carrots, beet, and mayonnaise.
Ingredients
- Lightly salted herring300 g
- Cooked beet2 pcs
- Boiled carrots2 pcs
- Boiled potatoes3 pcs
- Onion1 pcs
- Mayonnaise200 g
Instructions
Boil the beets, carrots, and potatoes until tender, then cool and peel them.
Remove any bones from the herring and chop it finely.
Grate all the cooked vegetables separately on a coarse grater.
Layer the salad in this order: potatoes, pickled onion, herring, carrots, and beets.
Spread a generous layer of mayonnaise over each layer.
Decorate the salad and chill it for at least 2 hours before serving.
