Ukrainian Paposhnyk
A festive rich Ukrainian sweet bread with yolks, butter, and raisins.
Ingredients
- Flour600 g
- Milk250 ml
- Dry yeast10 g
- Egg yolks8 pcs
- Sugar180 g
- Butter180 g
- Raisins120 g
- Lemon zest1 tsp
- Vanilla1 щіпка
Instructions
Dissolve yeast in warm milk with a spoonful of sugar and flour; leave for 15 minutes.
Beat the egg yolks with sugar until pale.
Combine the sponge, yolks, flour, salt, vanilla, and zest.
Gradually knead in soft butter and raisins until the dough is smooth.
Place in a tall mold, filling it halfway, and let rise.
Bake at 170°C for 40–50 minutes until a skewer comes out clean.
