Shulyky with Poppy Seeds
Traditional broken flatbread pieces soaked in honey-poppy dressing.
Ingredients
- Flour300 g
- Egg1 pcs
- Water120 ml
- Honey120 g
- Poppy seeds150 g
- Salt1 щіпка
Instructions
Knead a simple dough from flour, egg, water, honey, and a pinch of salt.
Roll into a thin flatbread and prick with a fork.
Bake at 190°C for 15–18 minutes until dry and lightly browned.
Soak poppy seeds in boiling water, then grind with honey.
Break the flatbread into pieces and pour the honey-poppy mixture over it.
Let stand for 15 minutes so the pieces soften slightly.
