Eggs in Sour Cream

A simple Hutsul-style dish of eggs baked in sour cream with herbs.

Ingredients

  • Eggs4 pcs
  • Sour cream150 g
  • Butter15 g
  • Fresh herbs15 g
  • Hard cheese30 g

Instructions

Grease a baking dish with butter and preheat the oven to 180°C.

Mix sour cream with salt, pepper, and finely chopped herbs.

Spread half of the sour cream in the dish.

Crack in the eggs carefully, keeping the yolks whole.

Spoon the remaining sour cream over the top and add a little grated cheese if desired.

Bake for 10–12 minutes until the whites are set and the yolks remain soft.
