Pea Porridge with Fried Onion

Thick split-pea porridge with carrot and golden fried onion.

Ingredients

  • Split peas300 g
  • Water900 ml
  • Onion2 pcs
  • Carrot1 pcs
  • Oil3 tbsp
  • Salt1 tsp
  • Black pepper1 to taste

Instructions

Rinse the split peas and soak for 4-6 hours or overnight.

Cover with fresh water and cook for 45-60 minutes until very soft.

Mash or blend the peas to your preferred texture.

Fry onion and carrot in oil until golden.

Stir the fried vegetables into the porridge and season with salt and pepper.
