Buckwheat Kasha with Butter and Fried Onion
Simple fluffy buckwheat with butter and golden fried onion.
Ingredients
- Buckwheat groats250 g
- Water500 ml
- Onion2 pcs
- Butter40 g
- Oil2 tbsp
- Salt1 tsp
Instructions
Sort and rinse the buckwheat; toast it briefly in a dry pan if desired.
Bring the water to a boil, season with salt, and add the buckwheat.
Cover, reduce the heat, and simmer for 15-18 minutes until the water is absorbed.
Dice the onions and fry them in oil until golden.
Stir butter into the hot kasha, cover with a towel, and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Mix in the fried onion and serve as a side dish or a simple main.
