Pearl Barley Porridge with Butter and Onion

Simple pearl barley with fried onion for a filling side dish.

Ingredients

  • Pearl barley250 g
  • Water900 ml
  • Onion2 pcs
  • Butter30 g
  • Oil2 tbsp
  • Salt1 tsp

Instructions

Rinse the pearl barley and soak for 2-4 hours if possible.

Cover with fresh water, season with salt, and cook for 40-45 minutes until tender.

Dice the onions.

Fry the onions in oil until golden.

Drain excess water from the barley and stir in butter.

Mix with the onions and serve hot.
