Classic Burger
A juicy homemade burger with a crispy-crusted beef patty, melted cheese and a tangy homemade sauce, all in a soft bun toasted in butter.
Ingredients
- beef mince500 g
- burger buns3 pcs
- cheese (cheddar or gouda)3 slices
- tomato1 pcs
- iceberg lettuce60 g
- onion0.5 pcs
- mayonnaise30 g
- ketchup30 g
- salt1 to taste
- black pepper1 to taste
- butter30 g
- worcestershire sauce1 tsp
- mustard1 tsp
- pickled cucumbers40 g
Instructions
Mix the ground beef with salt, black pepper and Worcestershire sauce; shape into 3 patties about 2 cm thick, pressing gently with your hands — don't overwork the meat, or the patties will turn out dense.
Heat a skillet over high heat and fry the patties for 3–4 minutes on one side until nicely browned, flip and cook for another 3–4 minutes; a minute before they're done, place a slice of cheese on each patty and cover with a lid so it melts.
Slice the buns in half and toast the cut sides in butter until golden.
For the sauce, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard and finely chopped pickles.
Spread the sauce on the bottom half of the bun, then add iceberg lettuce leaves, a tomato slice and onion rings, top with the patty and melted cheese, and cover with the top half of the bun.
Serve the burger immediately while hot, with fries on the side if desired.
