Chicken Congee

Ingredients

  • Rice180 g
  • Chicken broth or water1600 ml
  • Chicken breast250 g
  • Ginger15 g
  • Spring onion25 g
  • Soy sauce2 tbsp
  • Sesame oil1 tsp

Instructions

Rinse the rice until the water is almost clear.

Combine the rice, broth or water, and ginger slices in a pot.

Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and cook for 50–60 minutes, stirring often.

Cook the chicken in the porridge or separately, then shred it.

When the porridge is creamy, add the chicken, soy sauce, and sesame oil.

Serve with spring onion, extra ginger, or egg.
