Mac and Cheese
Creamy macaroni coated in a rich cheese sauce.
Ingredients
- Pasta (penne or elbows)300 g
- Grated cheddar250 g
- Milk400 ml
- Butter30 g
- Flour30 g
- Hirchytsya dizhonska1 tsp
- Paprika1 tsp
- Breadcrumbs30 g
Instructions
Boil the pasta until al dente and reserve 100 ml of the pasta water.
Make the sauce by melting butter, stirring in flour, then whisking in milk until thickened.
Remove from the heat and add two-thirds of the grated cheddar, mustard, paprika, and salt.
Mix the sauce with the pasta and transfer to a baking dish.
Top with the remaining cheese and breadcrumbs.
Bake at 190°C for 20 minutes until golden on top.
