Pot-au-Feu
Classic French boiled beef with vegetables and broth
Ingredients
- beef (for boiling)1000 g
- carrot1 pcs
- leek2 stalks
- celery2 stalks
- potato600 g
- turnip2 pcs
- broth500 ml
- mustard1 tsp
Instructions
Place the beef in a large pot, cover with cold water, bring to a boil, and skim off the foam.
Reduce the heat and simmer the meat for 1.5-2 hours until tender.
Peel and cut the carrots, leek, celery, potatoes, and turnip into large pieces.
Add the carrots, leek, celery, and turnip to the broth and cook for 25 minutes.
Add the potatoes and cook for another 20 minutes until all vegetables are tender.
Serve the meat and vegetables with the broth; mustard or horseradish can be served on the side.
