Brazilian Rice and Beans

Ingredients

  • Rice300 g
  • Black beans350 g
  • Onion1 pcs
  • Garlic cloves4 cloves
  • Bay leaves2 pcs
  • Oil2 tbsp
  • Salt1 to taste
  • Black pepper1 to taste

Instructions

Soak and cook the beans until tender, or use already cooked beans.

Rinse and cook the rice separately until fluffy.

Fry onion and garlic in oil until fragrant.

Add the beans with a little cooking liquid, bay leaf, salt, and pepper.

Simmer for 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Serve the beans next to or over the rice, with herbs if desired.
