Paprykarz Szczecinski
A Polish fish and rice spread with tomato and spices, served on bread.
Ingredients
- Smoked or canned fish250 g
- Rice100 g
- Carrot1 pcs
- Onion1 pcs
- Tomato paste2 tbsp
- Paprika1 tsp
- Oil2 tbsp
- Black pepper1 to taste
- Water500 ml
Instructions
Cook the rice until tender and let it cool.
Fry onion and carrot in oil until soft.
Add tomato paste, paprika, pepper, and a few spoonfuls of water; simmer for 5 minutes.
Mash the fish with a fork, removing bones if needed.
Mix fish, rice, and tomato vegetables into a thick spread.
Chill and serve on rye bread or toast.
