Polish Poppy Seed Roll
A festive Polish yeast roll filled with sweet poppy seed filling.
Ingredients
- Flour500 g
- Milk250 ml
- Dry yeast7 g
- Eggs2 pcs
- Butter100 g
- Poppy seeds300 g
- Honey80 g
- Raisins80 g
- Sugar1 tsp
Instructions
Dissolve yeast in warm milk with a spoon of sugar and rest for 10 minutes.
Add flour, eggs, butter, remaining sugar, and knead a soft dough; let it rise for 1 hour.
Steam the poppy seeds, grind them, and mix with honey, nuts, and raisins.
Roll the dough into a rectangle and spread the poppy filling over it.
Roll up tightly, seal the edge, and rest for 20 minutes.
Bake at 180°C for 35–40 minutes, then glaze after cooling.
