Fish Moqueca

Brazilian fish stew with coconut milk, tomatoes, peppers, and lime.

Ingredients

  • White fish fillet600 g
  • Coconut milk400 ml
  • Tomatoes3 pcs
  • Bell peppers2 pcs
  • Onion1 pcs
  • Garlic cloves3 cloves
  • Lime1 pcs
  • Cilantro20 g
  • Oil2 tbsp
  • Salt1 to taste

Instructions

Cut the fish into large pieces, season with salt, and sprinkle with lime juice for 10 minutes.

Slice the onion, peppers, and tomatoes.

In a deep skillet, sauté the onion and garlic for 3 minutes.

Add the peppers and tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes.

Pour in the coconut milk, bring to a gentle simmer, and add the fish.

Cover and simmer for 8–10 minutes until the fish is cooked, then finish with cilantro and serve with rice.
