Swedish Meatballs
Tender meatballs in a creamy sauce for dinner with mashed potatoes or pasta.
Ingredients
- Ground beef300 g
- Ground pork300 g
- Onion1 pcs
- Breadcrumbs60 g
- Milk100 ml
- Egg1 pcs
- Butter40 g
- Flour1 tbsp
- Cream200 ml
- Broth250 ml
- Salt1 to taste
- Black pepper1 to taste
Instructions
Soak the breadcrumbs in milk for 5 minutes.
Finely chop the onion and sauté until soft.
Mix both meats with the soaked breadcrumbs, onion, egg, salt, and pepper; shape into small balls.
Brown the meatballs in butter in batches, then transfer to a plate.
In the same pan, stir in flour, then whisk in broth and cream and cook until thickened.
Return the meatballs to the sauce and simmer for 8–10 minutes until cooked through. Serve with mashed potatoes.
