Chana Masala

Indian spiced chickpea stew in a tomato sauce.

Ingredients

  • Cooked chickpeas500 g
  • Onion1 pcs
  • Canned tomatoes400 g
  • Garlic cloves3 cloves
  • Ginger1 tbsp
  • Garam masala1 tsp
  • Ground cumin1 tsp
  • Ground coriander1 tsp
  • Lemon0.5 pcs

Instructions

Finely chop the onion and sauté until golden.

Add garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute.

Add cumin, coriander, and garam masala and stir briefly.

Pour in the tomatoes and simmer for 8–10 minutes until thick.

Add chickpeas and a little water and simmer for 15 minutes.

Finish with lemon juice, salt, and herbs, and serve with rice or naan.
