Panna Cotta
A delicate Italian dessert made from cream, vanilla, and berries that melts in your mouth once chilled.
Ingredients
- cream 33%500 ml
- sugar80 g
- gelatin8 g
- water100 ml
- vanilla pod1 stick
- berries200 g
Instructions
Pour 100 ml of cold water over the gelatin and let it bloom for 10–15 minutes.
Split the vanilla pod lengthwise, scrape out the seeds, and place both the seeds and the pod into a saucepan with the cream and sugar.
Heat the cream mixture over low heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves and the liquid is hot but not boiling.
Remove the saucepan from the heat, take out the vanilla pod, and add the bloomed gelatin. Whisk until the gelatin is completely dissolved with no lumps.
Pour the mixture into 4 individual molds, let cool to room temperature, cover, and refrigerate for at least 5 hours.
Before serving, dip the outside of each mold in hot water for 3–5 seconds, then invert the panna cotta onto plates and carefully lift off the mold.
Serve the dessert with berries.
