Refried Beans

Ingredients

  • pinto beans400 g
  • onion1 pcs
  • garlic3 cloves
  • lard or oil3 tbsp
  • cumin1 tsp
  • cheese80 g
  • salt1 to taste

Instructions

Drain cooked or canned beans, reserving some liquid.

Fry onion and garlic in oil or lard until soft.

Add the beans, cumin, salt, and a little bean liquid.

Mash the beans in the pan until creamy but not completely smooth.

Cook for 5-8 minutes, stirring, until thick.

Serve as a side, tortilla filling, or taco base.
