Ingredients

  • bread4 slices
  • ham4 slices
  • egg4 pcs
  • hard cheese4 slices
  • butter40 g
  • salt1 to taste
  • black pepper1 to taste

Instructions

1

Prepare 4 slices of bread, 4 slices of ham and 4 slices of cheese.

2

Melt 20 g of butter in a skillet over medium heat and toast the bread on both sides until golden. Transfer the slices to two plates.

3

Add the remaining 20 g of butter to the skillet, add the ham and fry for 1–2 minutes, until the edges are lightly browned.

4

Crack 4 eggs on top of the ham, gently spreading the whites over the pan, and fry for 3–4 minutes, until the whites are almost fully set and the bottom is golden. Leave the yolks whole or pierce them with the tip of a knife, depending on the desired doneness.

5

Reduce the heat to low, top the eggs with 4 slices of cheese, cover the skillet with a lid and heat for 1–2 minutes, until the cheese has melted.

6

Transfer the eggs with ham and cheese onto the toasted bread, season with salt and black pepper to taste, and serve immediately.
