Ingredients

  • Rice250 g
  • Onion1 pcs
  • Olive oil2 tbsp
  • Lemon1 pcs
  • Mint15 g
  • Dill20 g
  • Grape leaves35 pcs
  • Salt1 to taste
  • Tomato paste2 tbsp
  • Dry wine150 ml

Instructions

Rinse the vine leaves and soak out excess salt if needed.

Mix rice with onion, herbs, tomato paste, spices, and olive oil; for a meat version, add mince.

Place a little filling on the matte side of each leaf.

Fold in the sides and roll tightly.

Pack the sarma in a pot, add water, lemon, and a little oil.

Simmer over low heat for 40-60 minutes and let rest before serving.
