Bulgarian Grape Leaf Sarmi

Ingredients

  • Rice250 g
  • Onion1 pcs
  • Olive oil2 tbsp
  • Dill20 g
  • Mint10 g
  • Lemon1 pcs
  • Grape leaves30 pcs
  • Salt1 to taste
  • Dry wine150 ml
  • Broth500 ml

Instructions

Rinse the vine leaves and soak them if they are too salty.

Mix rice with mince, or make a meatless filling with rice, onion, herbs, and spices.

Place a little filling on each leaf and roll tightly.

Line the pot with a few leaves and pack the rolls closely on top.

Cover with water or broth, lemon juice, and a little oil.

Simmer covered for 45-60 minutes and serve with yogurt.
