Chicken Giouvetsi
Chicken baked with orzo in a tomato sauce.
Ingredients
- Chicken800 g
- Orzo pasta250 g
- Canned tomatoes400 g
- Onion1 pcs
- Garlic3 cloves
- Olive oil2 tbsp
- Hard cheese180 g
- Oregano1 tsp
- Salt1 to taste
- Water500 ml
- Dried oregano1 tsp
Instructions
Cook orzo pasta in salted water until done, reserving a little cooking water.
Prepare the sauce: chop onion and garlic and warm in a pan.
Add chicken, canned tomatoes, onion and garlic and cook to the right tenderness.
Stir in olive oil, hard cheese and oregano and heat into a smooth sauce.
Combine the pasta or noodles with the sauce, adding a little cooking water for a creamy texture.
Serve immediately while hot.
