Golden Moldovan plăcinte with soft dough and a juicy cheese filling with fresh dill.
Ingredients
- milk300 ml
- water200 ml
- dry yeast5 g
- sugar10 g
- salt5 g
- wheat flour750 g
- quark500 g
- eggs2 pcs
- fresh dill30 g
- vegetable oil30 ml
Instructions
Gently warm the milk and water, then dissolve the dry yeast, sugar and salt in it.
Gradually add the flour and knead a soft, elastic dough. Cover the bowl and leave the dough to rise for 30 minutes.
For the filling, mash the cottage cheese, add the eggs and finely chopped dill, and mix until smooth.
Divide the dough into 4 parts, shape into balls and let them rest for another 10 minutes.
Roll out each ball into a thin round, place a quarter of the filling in the center, fold the edges to the middle and pinch to seal. Turn seam-side down and gently flatten the plăcintă into a round flatbread.
Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the plăcinte for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Transfer the finished plăcinte to a plate and serve hot.
