Adjarian Khachapuri
Boat-shaped Georgian bread filled with cheese, butter, and egg.
Ingredients
- Wheat flour400 g
- Dry yeast7 g
- Warm milk200 ml
- Sulguni or Imeruli cheese400 g
- Egg2 pcs
- Butter30 g
- Vegetable oil2 tbsp
- Salt1 to taste
Instructions
Make the yeast dough from flour, yeast, milk, salt, and oil; let it rise for 1 hour.
Grate the sulguni or imeruli cheese.
Divide the dough into 2 pieces and roll each into an oval.
Fold the edges inward to form a boat shape and fill the center with cheese.
Bake at 220°C for 15 minutes, then make a well in the cheese and crack in an egg.
Return to the oven for 3-5 minutes. Serve hot with a piece of butter.
