Vegetable Pulao
A popular indian home-style dish with basmati rice, carrot, green peas, well suited for a family weekly menu.
Ingredients
- Basmati rice350 g
- Carrot1 pcs
- Green peas150 g
- Green beans150 g
- Onion1 pcs
- Garam masala1 tsp
- Ghee2 tbsp
- Salt1 to taste
- Bay leaves2 pcs
- Cinnamon0.5 tsp
- Ground cumin1 tsp
- Oil2 tbsp
Instructions
Rinse basmati rice and soak it for 20 minutes.
Heat ghee or oil in a pot and add whole spices: cumin, cinnamon, cardamom, and bay leaf.
Add onion and fry until lightly golden.
Add chopped vegetables, salt, and spices and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Add the rice, pour in hot water in the correct ratio, and cover.
Cook over low heat until the rice is done, then rest for 10 minutes and fluff.
