Spanish Croquettes
A popular spanish home-style dish with ham or chicken, milk, flour, well suited for a family weekly menu.
Ingredients
- Ham or chicken200 g
- Milk500 ml
- Flour80 g
- Butter60 g
- Eggs2 pcs
- Breadcrumbs160 g
- Oil for frying500 ml
- Salt1 to taste
- Black pepper1 to taste
- Nutmeg0.25 tsp
Instructions
Finely chop the ham, bacon, or chicken and fry briefly for aroma.
Melt the butter, stir in the flour, and cook for 1-2 minutes without browning.
Gradually whisk in the milk until a very thick bechamel forms.
Add the filling, salt, pepper, and nutmeg, then chill the mixture for 2-3 hours.
Shape croquettes and coat them in flour, egg, and breadcrumbs.
Deep-fry or shallow-fry until golden and crisp.
