Herring in Sour Cream
A Polish cold appetizer with herring, apple, onion, and sour cream.
Ingredients
- Herring fillets300 g
- Sour cream200 g
- Apple1 pcs
- Onion1 pcs
- Mustard1 tsp
- Lemon juice1 tbsp
- Dill10 g
- Black pepper1 to taste
- Sugar1 tsp
Instructions
If needed, soak the herring fillets in cold water for 30 minutes, then cut into pieces.
Slice the onion thinly and dice the apple.
Mix sour cream with mustard, lemon juice, pepper, and a pinch of sugar.
Add herring, onion, and apple, then stir gently.
Chill for 1 hour so the flavor becomes milder.
Serve with boiled potatoes or rye bread.
