Ingredients

  • Basmati rice300 g
  • Lentils250 g
  • Raisins80 g
  • Dates80 g
  • Cinnamon0.5 tsp
  • Butter30 g
  • Salt1 tsp
  • Black pepper0.5 tsp

Instructions

Rinse the rice until the water runs clear; prepare the meat, vegetables, and spices separately.

In a kazan or wide pot, brown the onion and main protein or vegetable base.

Add carrots, dried fruit, spices, or other characteristic ingredients and cook for 3–5 minutes.

Spread the rice in an even layer and add hot water or broth to cover it by about 1–1.5 cm.

Cook without active stirring until the liquid is absorbed, then cover and finish over very low heat.

Rest for 10 minutes, gently mix, and serve hot.
