Rinse the berries, cover with water and cook for 8–10 min.

Strain the broth; if desired, press the berries through a sieve.

Return the liquid to the pot, add sugar and bring to a boil.

Dissolve the starch in cold water.

Pour in the starch in a thin stream, stirring constantly.
