Soak dried mushrooms in warm water for 20 minutes, then chop them.

Cover smoked ribs with water and cook for 30–40 minutes.

Add sauerkraut, mushrooms, and diced potatoes.

Fry onion with paprika and add to the soup.

Cook for 25–30 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the cabbage has released its acidity into the broth.
