Rinse the rice until the water runs almost clear.

In a pot, combine the rice, broth or water, and slices of ginger.

Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and cook for 50–60 minutes, stirring frequently.

Cook the chicken in the porridge or separately, then shred it into pieces.

Once the porridge becomes creamy, add the chicken, soy sauce, and sesame oil.
