Dissolve the kurut in warm water to make a sauce; if using yogurt, add a little salt.

Break the flatbread into pieces and arrange them in a large dish.

Pour the sour milk sauce over the flatbread pieces so they soften slightly.

Slice the onion thinly and quickly fry it if desired, or leave it raw.

Top with tomatoes, cucumber, onion, and fresh herbs.
