Slice the miyeok seaweed, beef, soy sauce, and sesame oil; separately prepare an aromatic base of spices, garlic, or ginger.
In a pot, sauté the base in oil or fat, if this is characteristic of the recipe.
Add the main ingredients and pour in water, broth, or a coconut base from the recipe.
Simmer on low heat until the protein, grain, or vegetables become tender.
