Cut the boiled potatoes into slices, and the meat or bacon into small pieces.

Cut the onion into half-rings.

Melt butter in a frying pan and fry the onion until golden.

Add the potatoes and fry for 6–8 minutes until the edges are browned.

Add the meat or bacon, marjoram, salt, and pepper, and heat for another 4–5 minutes.

Fry an egg separately and serve it on top of the Gröstl.
