Shakshuka
Eggs gently cooked in a spiced tomato and pepper sauce.
Ingredients
- Egg4 pcs
- Canned tomatoes400 g
- Bell pepper1 pcs
- Onion1 pcs
- Garlic3 cloves
- Paprika1 tsp
- Cumin0.5 tsp
- Oil2 tbsp
- Salt1 to taste
Instructions
Finely chop the onion and bell pepper, then saute them in oil for 5 minutes.
Add the garlic, cumin, paprika, and chili pepper, then cook for 1 minute.
Add the tomatoes with their juice, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for 10 minutes.
Make wells in the sauce with a fork and carefully crack an egg into each well.
Cover and cook over low heat for 5-7 minutes, until the whites are set and the yolks remain runny.
Serve directly in the pan with bread or pita.
