Polish Cabbage with Peas
A traditional Polish meatless dish of sauerkraut and yellow split peas.
Ingredients
- Sauerkraut700 g
- Yellow split peas250 g
- Onions2 pcs
- Oil3 tbsp
- Bay leaves2 pcs
- Marjoram1 tsp
Instructions
Soak the peas for several hours, then cook until tender.
Rinse sauerkraut if needed, chop it, and stew for 30 minutes.
Fry the onion in oil until golden.
Add peas, onion, bay leaf, and marjoram to the cabbage.
Simmer for another 15 minutes so the flavors combine.
Serve as a main dish or festive side.
