German bread dumplings made from stale rolls, perfect with gravy.

Ingredients

  • Stale bread rolls300 g
  • Milk250 ml
  • Eggs2 pcs
  • Onion1 pcs
  • Butter30 g
  • Parsley20 g
  • Salt1 to taste
  • Black pepper1 to taste

Instructions

Dice the rolls and pour warm milk over them.

Fry onion in butter until soft.

Add eggs, onion, parsley, salt, and pepper to the bread.

Rest the mixture for 10 minutes, then form dumplings.

Simmer in salted water for 15–18 minutes.

Serve with goulash, roast meat, or mushroom sauce.
