British yeast griddle cakes with holes, perfect for butter and jam.

Ingredients

  • Flour300 g
  • Milk300 ml
  • Water150 ml
  • Dry yeast5 g
  • Sugar1 tsp
  • Baking soda0.5 tsp
  • Salt1 to taste
  • Butter30 g

Instructions

Mix warm milk, water, yeast, and sugar.

Add flour and salt and mix a thick batter.

Rest for 45 minutes until bubbly.

Add baking soda dissolved in a spoonful of water.

Cook in rings over low heat until the top sets and forms holes.

Toast before serving with butter and jam.
