Shopska Salad
A juicy Bulgarian salad of ripe tomatoes, crisp vegetables and a generous layer of grated sirene cheese.
Ingredients
- tomato400 g
- cucumbers250 g
- green bell pepper1 pcs
- onion1 head
- sirene cheese100 g
- fresh parsley10 g
- sunflower oil2 tbsp
- vinegar1 tbsp
- salt1 to taste
Instructions
Wash the tomatoes and cut them into large chunks, and slice the cucumbers into rounds or half-rounds.
Remove the stem and seeds from the green bell pepper and cut it into strips.
Cut the onion into thin half-rings and finely chop the parsley.
Combine the tomatoes, cucumbers, pepper, onion and parsley in a large bowl.
Dress the salad with sunflower oil, vinegar and salt to taste, and toss gently so as not to crush the tomatoes.
Divide the salad among plates and grate the sirene cheese over the top; serve immediately.
